The First Brave Knight - Chapter Three
The 3rd installment of "The First Brave Knight". My son has now put names to the characters, haha , which makes it quite confusing now .. but hey, the kid just started writing... He told me that he did this in school on his free time and has been racking his brain to come up with ideas for his "chapter 3". Awww... the effort. Good job, son!

Artwork - Hands
I am so thankful for the art module in my son's class. It has enhanced his drawing skills by the new techniques he learned and made drawing even more enjoyable for him. He now realizes his talent in drawing, maybe because of the praises he gets from his drawing, may it be from the family or from school. He knows now that when we say his drawing is "nice", it is the truth , and not because we said it just because we are his parents. He is even more motivated now to practice more and hone his craft. I may not have the talent in drawing but I am sure happy that my kids are having the knack for it.
Posting one of his artworks from school - "Hands".

Reading time
I love reading! Ever since I was a child, I was always with a book especially during the summertime. It may have lessened while I was growing up because my time was divided by the new technologies that surrounded me and 'coz of many other reasons but it has never stopped my love for reading. True, life can get a little hectic as we grow older, with all the responsibilities we have to fulfill but whenever I get to have the time, reading is one that makes me smile at the end of the day. That is why, I want to impart this to my kids, "READING is IMPORTANT". So, every month we would make it a point to borrow books from the library. As a mother, I am so thankful for the National Library (http://www.nlb.gov.sg), for their reading programs and for providing a wide variety of books for both kids and adults. We are lucky that we have an unlimited selection and access to all these wonderful books. I am also thankful for the primary schools here for inculcating and encouraging the kids to read. Thru their "reading time" program, my kid is encourage to bring and read a book which made him interested in books and developed his love for reading.
Yes, it is quite an effort to spend time every day to read to our kids but that effort eventually paid off 'coz we can say that we are proud parents of kids who loves reading. In the blogs to come I will try to share with you the books my kids are reading every month.

The First Brave Knight - Chapter One
My son loves to draw, it is one of his pastime aside from computer gaming. But I was so surprised one day when my son showed me one of his works. He handed me his sketchbook and showed me this.
His very first try at story writing, it just amazes me :).

Happy Halloween
Halloween is not celebrated here in Singapore but there are establishments here that do celebrate this event. We would often here our kids talk excitedly about it, imagining the costumes they are going to wear, going trick or treat and wondering about the goodies they are going to get.
Hopefully someday, we can bring the kids to celebrate this festive day, with costumes and going trick or treat just like the way they see it on TV.
I am sharing with you my son's Halloween drawing.
Happy Halloween everybody!

What Makes me Smile?
I made this blog so I can share our little world. This blog is all about OUR adventures....
So what makes me smile? KIDS + FAMILY + LIFE'S SIMPLE PLEASURES
KIDS: Artworks, movies and songs they enjoyed, games they played, memorable milestones, funny events, tantrums, stories....
FAMILY: family bonding, reunions, outings...
LIFE'S SIMPLE PLEASURES: cooking, baking, photography, traveling, gaming, reading, running, swimming...and most especially... loving GOD.
No matter how difficult, stressful, time-starved life could be, having these events in my life will surely bring a SMILE on my face and complete my DAY.
